Édes Anyanyelvünk has been published since 1979 as an informative, guidance-giving publication which urges and encourages linguistic professionalism in the spirit of humanistic language usage, with the support of the Linguistic Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Society of Hungarian Linguistics, published by the Association of Hungarian Language Preservation since 1992. On five occasions a year, readers concerned with the preservation of the Hungarian language can read articles, news, and reports on spelling, correctness, language history issues and current language usage and may send in their answers to challenges which showcase the beauty and flexibility of the Hungarian language.
