Established in 1958, the Jelenkor periodical publishes fiction as well as essays, studies and reviews, dealing with literature as well as art and humanities subjects. The range of authors appearing in the definitive workshop of contemporary Hungarian literature for over a half century includes the likes of Péter Nádas and Péter Esterházy, Krisztián Tóth and Krisztián Péter and Péter Závada.
