The Kortárs periodical has been one of the country's leading literary and art periodical since 1956. In the past, it featured writings from artists such as Sándor Weöres, Gyula Illyés, Géza Ottlik, Ágnes Nagy Nemes, and Péter Eszterházy, with current contributions from Dezső Tandori, István Ágh, Béla Markó, János Térey and a host of other contemporary artists. The magazine continues to run a fine arts column, which presents a number of vital contemporary artists.
