In the recent decades a host of professional studies and translations were published in the journal which are still considered to be points of reference, whilst the review column has provided a steady overview of the output of contemporary philosophy. The Magyar Filozófiai Szemle and its predecessors were never fully dedicated to any direction or workshop of the Hungarian philosophical scene and to this very day, the journal's declared editorial standpoint is to present the professional performance of all significant schools of thought.
