The Hungarian Civil Guard Association is 30 years old
Magyar Posta is marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Hungarian Civil Guard Association by issuing a promotional personalised stamp. Seventy thousand copies of the philatelic novelty made by printing on the label part of the Very Own Stamp personalised stamp were produced by the banknote printing company Pénzjegynyomda, and can be purchased at Filaposta and designated post offices or ordered from Magyar Posta’s online store from 23 April 2021. The Hungarian Civil Guard Association was founded on 24 April 1991. The Civil Guard provides an effective opportunity for citizens who wish to take responsibility for maintaining public order to act and helps organisations that play an important role in consolidating public safety. Among the duties civil guards perform are patrolling and keeping watch, helping with accidents and crime prevention, protecting crime victims and property, ensuring safety at events, and participating in educational, cultural and similar activities. The Association’s logo features on the label of the stamp and in the postmark. An advertisement popularising the Civil Guard appears on the first day cover.
