Magyar Posta is issuing a thematic personalised stamp to mark the 15th Elgyűsz Stamp Exhibition. Nine thousand one hundred copies of the stamp with a label designed by the graphic artist Anita Laczkó were produced. The Souvenir Sheet and Cinderella Stamp Section of the National Federation of Hungarian Philatelists (Elgyűsz) is staging its 15th stamp exhibition between 27 and 29 August 2021 in the Petőfi Sándor Secondary School in Pápa. The section specialising in the collection of souvenir sheets and cinderella stamps (Elgyűsz) was founded in Pápa in 2005. The 15th exhibition, which was planned to mark the 15th anniversary of its foundation, was due to be held in 2020 but was unfortunately postponed because of the pandemic. One year later, the exhibition will be held jointly with the Thematic Section in Pápa being the venue of the foundation of the section. The first exhibition was held in Várpalota in 2006. This will be the third time that Pápa has staged the exhibition after the 6th in 2011 and the 10th in 2015. The predecessor of the Petőfi Sándor Secondary School in Pápa, the venue of the exhibition, was the Ranolder Institute founded by the Order of the Daughters of Charity in 1864. In the academic year 1952/53 the school adopted the name Petőfi Sándor State Secondary School and they moved into a new building in the academic year 1994/95. The institute is a member of the National Petőfi Sándor Society, which fosters the heritage and cult of the 19th-century poet. The main elements of the label for the stamp are the poet’s portrait composed as a cinderella stamp to seal the envelope as well as the facade of the Petőfi Sándor Secondary School in Pápa, which hosts the event. The postmark shows the envelope-sealing stamp depicting the poet featuring on the label.
