HUNFILEX 2022 Budapest
After 1971, in 2022 Budapest will again be the location for the stamp world championship. To mark and support the occasion, Magyar Posta is issuing a set of two special stamps with a surcharge. The HUF 200 surcharge on the stamps will be donated to support the realisation of the exhibition. The new issues designed by the graphic artist Imre Benedek were produced by ANY Security Printing Company, and will be available at first day post offices and Filaposta in Hungary and may also be ordered from Magyar Posta’s online store from 8 April 2020. The National Federation of Hungarian Philatelists is organising a stamp world championship in Budapest with the support of the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP) and the Federation of European Philatelic Associations (FEPA). Philatelists and everyone interested from all corners of the world will be cordially welcome to this prestigious event planned for the spring of 2022 to be held in the Hungarian capital, which is deservedly noted for its beauty. The aim of the pair of stamps being released now is to draw the attention of Hungarian and international stamp collectors to the competition in 2022 and to devote the proceeds from the surcharge to supporting its realisation. Budapest’s icon bridge, the Chain Bridge, appears on the stamps with the Buda Castle in the background of one of the stamps. Besides the images, the logos of the FIP and FEPA feature below the event’s official logo. On the first day cover, there is a map showing the districts of Budapest. The special postmark also features the logo of the event and a schematic drawing of the Chain Bridge.
