HUNFILEX 2022 Budapest Stamp World Championship FDC
To promote the HUNFILEX 2022 BUDAPEST Stamp World Championship, Magyar Posta is issuing a special pair of se-tenant stamps showing one of Budapest’s best known tourist sights, the Fishermen’s Bastion. The new issue designed by the graphic artist Imre Benedek was produced by ANY Security Printing Company, and will be available at first day post offices and Filaposta in Hungary from 4 March 2022, but may also be ordered from Magyar Posta’s online store. In the centenary year of its foundation, the National Federation of Hungarian Philatelists is organising a stamp world championship in Budapest between 31 March and 3 April 2022 under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP) and the Federation of European Philatelic Associations (FEPA). The National Federation regularly organises national and international stamp exhibitions, and promotes the participation of Hungarian exhibitors in international philatelic events. In Hungary, a stamp world exhibition was held in 1961 and 10 years later in 1971. The organisers of the HUNFILEX 2022 BUDAPEST Stamp World Championship are expecting materials from exhibitors from almost fifty countries and plan to show the collections on over 1,200 display boards in the event halls of Groupama Aréna. The pair of stamps join together to show the Fishermen’s Bastion. The stamp designs also feature the official logos of the Stamp World Championship, FIP and FEPA. On the commemorative first day cover, there is a map showing the districts of Budapest. The special postmark features the logo of the event and a schematic drawing of the Fishermen’s Bastion.
