HUNFILEX 2022 BUDAPEST Stamp World Championship the National Federation of Hungarian Philatelists is 100 years old FDC
Magyar Posta is issuing a commemorative souvenir sheet to mark the centenary of the foundation of the National Federation of Hungarian Philatelists. The souvenir sheet and the associated philatelic products were designed by the graphic artist György Kara. The sheets were printed by ANY Security Printing Company. The new issue will be available at first day post offices and Filaposta in Hungary from 31 March, but may also be ordered from Magyar Posta’s online store. The National Federation of Hungarian Philatelists is a non-profit cultural civil society organisation established by stamp collectors as an association, which aims to expand the knowledge and expertise of its members and to provide a profitable way of spending free time. In 2022, the Federation is celebrating the centenary of its foundation. Through its predecessor organisation, it has been a member of the FIP (Fédération Internationale de Philatélie) since 5 June 1927 and of the FEPA (Federation of European Philatelic Associations) since 29 May 1989. The design of the numbered commemorative souvenir sheet’s circular stamp features the Federation’s centenary logo, while in the design of the frame a stamp from each decade of the last 100 years is highlighted. The FIP, FEPA and HUNFILEX 2022 Budapest logos also appear in the design of the frame. The special first day cover carries a montage of the stamps on the souvenir sheet, while the postmark features a stylised drawing of the jubilee logo. In addition to the standard, black-numbered edition, a red-numbered imperforated and a green-numbered specially (square shaped) perforated edition of the souvenir sheet, and an exclusive stamp set are being issued. Alongside the three editions of the souvenir sheet, the stamp set also contains a monochrome version, which may only be purchased as part of the set. The souvenir sheets and the monochrome print are protected in mounts. The stamp set sold in a resealable plastic case comes with a numbered Certificate in Hungarian and English bearing an embossed postal seal verifying its authenticity. All the editions in each set of the 1,100 sets issued bear the same serial number in the number range between 1 and 1,100. The standard edition as well as the red- and green-numbered souvenir sheets with serial numbers above the 1,100 number range are also available for sale outside the set. The monochrome print may not be used to pay for the postage of letter-mail items.
